Hi everyone-
I have so much to tell about living here. It would take me days to write it all in an email. So I will take one thing to write about at a time and tell you about it. And since yesterday was water day and I got some pictures, I will tell you about our water situation. The house in the picture is the neighbor across the street. (and yes, there are dead birds hanging in their entryway!! Someone has gone hunting!!) The big orange thing is their insulated water tank. Ours is somewhere under our house so we don't have one of those big things in our front yard. Majority of the people in Bethel have insulated water tanks.
We get water DELIVERED once a week by Wilson, our water delivery guy. Our water arrives around 8am or so on Saturday mornings. We really try to use up as much water before then so that if we run out, we will soon be replenished. We do the majority of our laundry on Friday. We try to get a shower in on Saturday morning before the water truck arrives. We share 1000 gallons of water with the people we share this duplex with. And, I'm proud to say, we have not run out of water once yet! If we were to run out, we could get an emergency delivery that costs $$$. Other people always have about 10-15 gallons of water stored in secure buckets with which to sponge bathe with, if needed. We don't bathe everyday anymore. We bathe every other day. Maya gets a bath in her little bathtub every other day. We are very water conscious now. When we shower, we take Navy showers and turn the water off when we are lathering up.
We don't immediately wash clothes just because they were worn once. We don't sweat here like down in Florida and if something isn't mud-stained, then it can be worn again.
Not only do we get our water delivered once a week, our sewage is removed on the same day, as well. And you can tell when the sewer truck has been by! IT STINKS!!!
We are doing well with this situation.
This is part of our lives now.
I am proud of how well we are conserving water!!
Hei teille kaikille!
Minulla on niin paljon kertomista taalta Bethelista etta menis varmaan 2 paivaa jos kirjoittaisin kaikki kerralla emailissa. Mina kirjoitan yhdesta asiasta kerrallaan. (ja heidan eteisessa on kuoleita lintuja...joku just tuli metalta!) Suurimman osan taloista Bethelissa on tuommoinen tankki pihalla.
Meidan jatevesi haetaan pois myos launtaisin.
