Hi everyone! I seemed to have taken a break from blogging there for a while. I was traveling.. trip to Vegas and a conference in Anchorage. Aki and Maya met up with me in Anchorage for a long weekend. Maya LOVES to go on airplanes! Aki made the mistake of telling her the night before that they were going on the airplane the next day and Maya woke up at 4am and went into our room and woke Aki asking about the airplane!! Maya does point to my stomach and say "baby" but I don't know if she really understands what is going on. What she really understands is how to take care of a baby. She's loves to take care of her baby dolls. She is always changing their diapers, wiping them with baby wipes and trying to put Desitin on their butts! I think she will be a big help when her new little brother gets here!
I am headed out to the village of Marshall tomorrow until Thursday. I was there last in March of this year. This will be my last village trip for a long time!!
We have gotten cold weather really early this year. I feel like I went from my summer jacket and sneakers directly to my down jacket and winter boots! We skipped fall and rubber boots! (which I really don't mind because the mud here in the fall is horrendous!) One morning this past week it was only 1F and this morning it is 21F. We haven't been above freezing in over a week. Some crazy people are already out on their snowmachines even though the rivers haven't completely frozen yet. Aki thinks that if it will snow a bit more and keep up the cold temps that it may be safe to snowmachine by next weekend...
Moi! Pidin tauon blogista! Olin matkalla Las Vegasissa ja myos konferensissa Anchorage:Ssa. Aki ja Maya tuli Anchorage:iin viikonlopuksi ja meilla oli hauskaa! Maya tykkaa ihan hirveesti lentokoneista ja Aki teki semmoisen virheen etta kertoi Mayalle edellisena iltana etta he lahtevat seuraavana aamuna lentokoneella matkalle. Maya herasi klo 04.00 ja siesoi meidan sangyn vieressa ja heratti Akia kyselemalla milloin lahtevat lentokoneella! Ens kerralla ei voi kertoo neidille lahdosta vastakun samana lahtopaivana! Maya koskettelee minun mahaa ja sanoo "baby" mutta en tieda ymmartaako han kuitenkaan. Hoitaa vauvoja han kylla osaa! Nukeilla on aina "hyh" vaipoissa ja niilta pitaa vaihtaa vaippoja. Maya on varmaan iso apu kun pikku veli vihdoin saapuu maailmaan!
Lahden huomenna pien kylaan Marshalliin. Olin siella viime maaliskuussa. Olen siella 4 paivaa. Tama tulee olemaan viimeinen kyla reissu pitkaan aikaan!
Meilla on tullut jo lunta! Pakkasta oli toissa aamuna -16 ja tanaan on -6. Pakkasen puolella on ollut jo yli viikon. Jotkut hullut jo ajelevat kelkoilla jarvien ja tundran yli. Aki vaittaa etta jos pakkaset jatkuu ja vahan enemman lunta tulee etta ens viikonloppuna voi ehka paasta jo turvallisesti kelkalla ajamaan!
