Maya and Rex... Maya ja Rekku

Maya and REx love each other! Maya won't go to bed at night until she has gotten a kiss from Rex! He is so good with her. He lets her take his bone right out of his mouth. He lets her sit on him. He's such a good boy!!

Maya ja Rekku rakastavat toisiaan! Maya ei mene iltaisin nukkuu jos han ei saa hyva yon pusua Rekulta. Rekku on niin kiltti Mayan kanssa. Maya voi luun ottaa suoraan Rekun suusta. Maya istuu Rekun selasa. Meilla on aivan ihana ja karsivallinen koira! (Eiks Maya ole aika paljon minun nakoinen kun olin pieni tassa kuvassa?!?!)

Here are pictures of Maya with her little 5 1/2 month old girlfriend Ryann and then the little guy in the picture is Jacob, who is 4. Jacob is the older brother of the blonde little guy that Maya is kissing in the other picture. Maya loves to take care of Ryann and Leo, the little blondie. SHe tries to take off their diapers and just be a little mommy!

Here is Maya in her new jean skirt she got from Anne's aunt/godmother Leena! So cute! And the outfit is completed by her pink Finnish rubber boots!!

Muddy jog!! Mutainen lenkki!

Here we are on one of the muddiest and non-drivable roads in Bethel. This is one where people get stuck during the fall and the spring. It was great to be able to run in only one layer of clothes!! Our BOB baby jogger is the B-E-S-T!!! It goes through everything!!

Yippee!! Spring has finally arrived! I was starting to pine for warmer weather. Today it was up to the mid 40's... After temps below zero, that feels warm! But with the warmer weather comes THE BETHEL MUD!! There's a road that we take that makes our drive to Maya's daycare alot shorter and it is practically impassible. The mud is so thick that vehicles are getting stuck in the mud! My friend has a Suburban and the mud went halfway up her door!

Yippii! Kevat on tullut. Mina jo kaipasin lampimampaa. Tanaan oli jo noin +7C! Se tuntuu erittain lammin kun pakkasta on ollut -40! Kevat tuo tanne Betheliin MUTAA! Ja sita kylla riittaa! Yhta tieta ei enaa paase ajamalla kun on niin paljon mutaa..

Hello!

Hello to everyone! I am even shocked at how long it has been since I have last posted on Maya's blog!! THings have been very calm and non-dramatic, so I guess I haven't had much to write about! Maya did figure out to take an empty spray bottle and point it at something that needs to be cleaned and say "Tsst, tsst" and then wipe up the floor with paper towels. It's amazing how observant she is! She also now says "Owie" when she gets hurt and wants us to blow on it (Finnish version of kissing something better!). She is very much into taking care of her dolls. Her favorite is Alaska's Voitto which is a doll she got in Finland for her 1st birthday from her godfather Herkko. Voiito now sleeps with Maya in her bed at night. Voitto even goes grocery shopping with us!
Maya got sick again last week. ANother ear infection with a 103F fever and antibiotics. Now she's much better and keeping us on our toes again!
We are hoping that spring will arrive soon. The temps have gone from -6F to about 35F in the past 2 weeks. Mother Nature can't decide what she wants to do! It's about 35F today and I'm going to go for a jog with the dog since the weather is so nice!! When the snow starts to really melt, Bethel will be a mud-hole! But it's something we have to go through before summer gets here. BRING IT ON!!!

Heips kaikille! Olen ite ihmeissaa miten kauan sitten viimeksi kirjoitin! Meilla ei ole hirveesti tapahtunut. Maya keksi semmoista etta han ottaa ruiskupullon ja aantelee "tsst tsst" ja yrittaa siivota ahkerasti! Maya myos on niin kovaa hoitamaan Alaskan Voittoa (nukke kuvassa). Maya vaihtaa vaippoja ja antaa tuttipulloa. Maya sai Voiton Herkko-kummilta 1V synttarilahjaksi. Voitto nykyaan myos nukkuu Mayan kanssa sangyssa yolla ja myos kaypi ruokakaupassa kanssamme!
Maya sairastui korvatulehdukseen taas viime viikolla. Kuumetta oli ja nyt neiti on antibiotti kuurilla. Parempi olo hanella on ja saamme taas juosta perassa!
Toivottavasti kevat on tulossa! Viime 2 viikon aikana kelit ovat ollut -20C muutamaan asteeseen lammon puolelle. Tanaan on jo +2C ja varmaan lahden koiran kanssa lenkille pian kun kerrankin on hyva ilma! Lumet pian sulaa ja sitten Bethelista tulee mutarapakko!! Mutta onneksi Mummo ja Ukki Kajaanista ovat laittaneet kurakamppeita Mayalle. Maya varmaan nauttii!!
