Maya

Maya got a new snowsuit from her grandparents in Finland! It is wonderful! And it kept her warm this afternoon when we were outside.

Maya sai uuden toppapuvun Kajaanin Mummolta ja Ukilta. Se on tosi lammin ja tyttoa ei paleltanut kun olimme pihalla tanaan!



It is cold today! It's 8 degrees F with a windchill down to -11F. And the wind is from the NE at 24 mph. We were only able to be outside for less than 30 min.
It is getting wonderfully light outside. We have 10 hours of daylight and the day gets longer by 5 min 30 sec each day!!!

Tanaan on kylma! Ulkona on -13C ja tuulen kanssa -24. Tuulee pohjoisesta 39 km/h.
Ei voinut edes 30 minuttia olla pihalla tanaan. Meilla on jo 10 tuntia valoa jo ja paiva pitenee 5:30 minutilla joka paiva!

Look at what Maya figured out! She pulled her little chair over the the front door and was able to reach the doorknob and lock. Maya's trying to say so many words now! She is so adorable!

We are home... Kotona ollaan!

Hello!
We have finally arrived home. It is Thursday, February 21st 9pm Alaska time. We left Stuart, FL Wednesday morning at 5am. We got to Anchorage on Thursday night at midnight Alaska time (4am Thursday Florida time) It took us about 24 hours to get from Stuart to Anchorage- via Orlando, Newark and Seattle. Maya was amazing. She giggled when we hit turbulance because she felt it in her stomach. She was enthralled by all of the airplanes. She waved at almost everyone we passed in the airport! She slept fine and didn't throw any temper tantrums. We were SO lucky in that we got an empty seat between Aki and I for Maya to sleep on every one of our flights. And we carried a real pillow with us and with that combo our baby girl slept! Our trip went amazingly well. We did spend the day today in Anchorage buying frozen goods. Aki bought his rifle that he has wanted.
We saw a young moose eating grass at the entrance to the Anchorage airport. We saw a coyote running along side a road and I saw some bald eagles flying in the sky today outside of Anchorage!
Rex was SO excited to see us! He howled and wiggled.
It is +5 F and snowing at this time. A little different than in Florida but we are very happy to be home!

Me vihdoin saavuimme kotiin! Nyt on torstai, 21.2 ja klo 21.00. Lahdimme Stuartista Keskiviikko aamuna 05.00. Savuimme Anchorage:iin Alaskan aikaan 00.00 (elo 04.00 torstai aamuna Stuartin aikaan).Melkein kesti 24 tuntia paasta Stuartista Anchorage:iin- Orlandon, Newarkin ja Seattlen kautta.
Maya oli niin kiltti! Han nukkui hyvin koko matkan ja ei kiukutellut sen kummoisemmin. Vaikka heratettiin kesken unet neiti ei itkenyt! Maya kikatti ja nauroi kun oli ilmakuoppia kun ne tuntuivat hanen masussa! Maya tykkasi kovasti seurata lentokoneita kentilla. Maya se vaan vilkutti kaikille ketka menivat meista ohi lentokentilla! Onneksi saimme tyhjan paikan minun ja AKin keskella joka lennolla etta Maya sai nukkua hyvin. Me myos otettiin oikean tyynyn mukaan ja uskon etta sekin auttoi. Olimme tan paivan ostoksilla Anchorage:ssa. Naimme hirven Anchorage:in lentokentan sisaankaynilla, kotkan, ja koyotin kun olimme ajelemassa Anchoragen ulkopuolella!
Rex oli niin innoissaan kun tulimme kotiin! Han ulisi ja nuoli Mayaa kovasti.
Bethelissa on nyt -15C- vahan erilaista kun Floridassa mutta ollaan onnellisia olla kotona!

Goodbye Antti, Jenni, and Eero

This is what Antti, Jenni and Eero are leaving behind today. Their vacation has come to and end. We had a great time with them!!

Maya and I went to watch Thomas' baseball practice on Monday. Thomas was busy playing ball but the girls had a great time running around and playing together! We have missed them so much!!
