Well, it looks like we will be hit by a strong tropical strom Ernesto instead of a hurricane. Anyway, it will be Maya's first storm. Well, I was about 10 days pregnant last year and didn't know it when hurricane Wilma hit. Maya and I were at Elvi-Mamma's house this afternoon. Elvi-Mamma loves to take care of Maya!

Ja kylla se Elvi-Mamma jaksaa hoosata ja hoitaa Mayaa!!!

Today Maya is one month old! She is growing very fast! We did finally get her to take a pacifier...whew. She has such a strong need to suck that the pacifier is a blessing. I was being used as a human pacifier. We did have to buy every type of pacifier on the market before finding the Avent pacifier. Yesterday Maya stayed awake for almost the entire day and today she has been awake for maybe 30 minutes all day! We dod go shopping at Target today with Elvi-Mamma.
She is starting to smile and interact more each day...
Mamma and Pappa gave Maya her bath this evening!

Maya on kuukauden ikainen tanaan! Me saatiin Mayan ottamaan tutin vihdoin. Elvi-Mamman diagnoosi Mayasta oli etta hanella oli niin paha imu tuska etta tutti oli pakollinen. Tutti pullostakin kerran paivassa Maya on syonyt aidin maitoa.
Eilen Maya valvoi melkein koko paivan ja tanaan hyva jos han valvoi 30 minuttia! Mamma ja Pappa kylvetti Mayan tanaan!

Hello!
Maya went to the doctor yesterday and she now weighs 10 lb 5.5 oz! She has grown 1 inch in three weeks! She is now 22 inches! It's amazing to watch her. Yesterday in the bathtub with her Daddy she was so much more active moving her legs around. She was also mimicing Aki when he would stick his tongue out or smile. She is smiling...sometimes we just don't know what she's smiling at!
All is well. Last night went well, too!
Today our friends the Weilers will be getting their new daughter Bliss from China! Maya will have a new "cousin"!

Maya kavi 4vk tarkastuksessa eilen ja han nyt painaa 4700g ja on 55cm pitka! Se on 2.5cm kasvanut kolmessa viikossa! Maya kehittyy silmien edessa. Eilen kylpyammeessa Akin kanssa han liikkui jalkoja paljon enemman. Han pystyy matkimaan ilmeita. Hymyjakin nakyy mutta joskus syyta ei tiedeta! Muuten kaikki menee hyvin. Maya nukkui ihan hyvin viime yona.
Meidan ystavat Pete ja Michelle Weiler saavat heidan tyttarensa Bliss tanaan. He ovat nyt Kiinassa. Odotellan kuvia ja tietoja Mayan uudesta "serkusta" innoillaan!

I got the idea to do this blog from Michelle Weiler. They are leaving for China today to get their new adopted daughter Bliss Theresa Pei.
I think that this will be an easy way for us to keep our friends and relatives who live far away posted on what is going on in Maya's life.
Tomorrow she is four weeks old already! Last night wasn't the best night. We had a busy day yesterday visiting the Weilers before they left for China and then I had my office party at my boss's home. Maya didn't sleep well yesterday afternoon and last night she finally fell asleep at my boob around 10pm and woke up at 01.00am. She was awake until 2.30am! I was so tired!
But our little angel is still sleeping now and it's 9.00am. Elvi-Mamma already called and said she will have lunch ready for us today.
Tomorrow we have an appointment with Maya's doctor. I wonder how much weight she has gained!

Huomenna Maya on jo 4 vk vanha! Viime yona Maya valvoi 1.5 tuntia 1.00-2.30. Mua nyt vasyttaa! Meilla oli kiireinen paiva kun kaytiin ystava perheen Weilereitten lua koska he lahtivat tanaan Kiinaan hakemaan heidan uuden tyttarensa Bliss. Myos eilen oli mun tyopaikan piknik ja Maya ei halunnut nukkua ollenkaan. Eli sitten viime yona piti valvottaa aitia mutta nyt meidan enkeli nukkuu ja kello on 09.30.
Huomenna meilla on laakari aika Mayalle ja olen kiinostunut tietaa paljonko Maya painaa! Syonyt se tytto on!
